LAIA, THE PIANIST
Laia began her piano studies at a very young age with her mom. Ultimately, she got graduated at Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu of Barcelona under the teaching of Àlex Alguacil in piano and Emili Brugalla in chamber music.
Laia has performed numerous times at social and cultural venues across Catalonia and internationally, and have participated in many masterclasses by world-renowned pianists.
During many years, she has performed chamber music in her classical piano trio called Trio Aqua. They have performed in several stages of Catalonia and Italy and have participated in masterclasses by renowned musicians.
Previously, in 2013, she obtained the 3rd Prize in IX Concurs de Música de Cambra Higini Anglès.
LAIA, THE COMPOSER
Musical composition (and also film scoring) was of Laia's interest from a very young age. She has learnt the craft of this field mostly in a self-taught manner, but loves to share her own compositions on her Youtube channel.
In 2023, her composition "Like Water" won the 2nd Prize at Leonardo4Music Competition, which afterwards was world premiered at BOZAR in Brussels. Furthermore, her arrangement of "Les Dolces Festes" was selected in the ECN Christmas Competition and premiered in Lisbon.
Additionally, Laia also has delved into the world of musical improvisation. She believes that improvisation is key for the understanding of music. For this reason, she loves to improvise music on the piano.
Also, she is currently working as a dance accompanist in the High-Performance Centre of Dance in Terrassa (PAR) and in IEA Oriol Martorell in Barcelona.
