About Laia

Laia is a classical pianist, originally from a town near Barcelona. A firm believer in the transformative power of music in society, she is passionate about exploring its depths not only through performance but also through composition and improvisation.

Laia, THE PIANIST

Laia’s journey with the piano began at a very young age, under the guidance of her mother. She later graduated from the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona, where she studied piano with Àlex Alguacil and chamber music with Emili Brugalla.

An artist with a passion for sharing music, Laia has captivated audiences across Catalonia and abroad, performing at a wide range of cultural and social venues. She has refined her artistry through masterclasses with some of the world’s most acclaimed musicians. Most recently, she made a debut with the Orquestra do Algarve, performing Chopin's Piano Concerto in E minor under the baton of Joshua dos Santos.

Beyond the concert stage, Laia connects with her audience through her Youtube channel, where she shares her vision of music.

Laia, THE COMPOSER

Laia’s passion for musical composition, including film scoring, began at a very young age. Largely self-taught, she has cultivated her skills independently while sharing her original works on her YouTube channel. She is now furthering her expertise under the guidance of composer Mike Ladouceur.

Laia’s compositions have received international recognition, with several being awarded and premiered abroad. Recently, she was honored with a commission to compose the music for an upcoming ballet production.

In addition to composition, Laia has embraced the art of musical improvisation, which she views as essential to truly understanding music. Her love for improvising at the piano has opened doors to the world of dance accompaniment. Currently, she works with the High-Performance Centre of Dance in Terrassa (PAR) and the IEA Oriol Martorell in Barcelona, bringing her improvisational skills to support dancers in their creative expression.
